To combat the 714 number shortage, about 8 years ago the introduced an "overlay" of the 657 area code, which means anyone in the 714 area code can get a 657 number instead when 714 numbers are no longer available. I'll prob cancel phone and switch to att instead if they can't help me.They ran out of 714 numbers to give out. I don't have another number to port over. Get a area code that no one is familiar with. I emailed twc direct support to get resolution. I kept getting bounced around today by phone. Somehow i was given a newer 657 area code.
